Happy Couple

We are trusted

  • I find the staff very helpful and caring. My relative is happy to be there. They are trying hard to improve the home.

    M.M. Sister of Resident

  • The home did not have a smell often associated with elderly care and the cleaners worked hard at keeping things this way. Spending time there gives you a good opportunity to watch how things work and the care showed to the residents was lovely. Diets at the home are nutritious and well presented, MP could be difficult about her food but they always found something to entice her with. There was no problem if we wanted to give her the meal and filled in the chart. We always felt supported and the management are always on hand if we had any issue that we wanted to raise.

Mark Anderson, Director

Between 2013 and 2018, Mark Anderson, was Operations Manager and Registered Manager for a domiciliary care provider and responsible for managing growth from 1,000 to 10,000 hours per week over this period.

This included building a network of five regional branches and working with 14 commissioners, including local authorities and CCGs. This experience made me realise maintaining a genuine, person-centred, caring culture in a remote working, frontline staff, was extremely difficult.

In 2018, I set up Anderson Nursing and bought the Willows Care Home in Bedlington. The vision was to create an integrated residential and domiciliary care service, one where new staff spent time being embedded in our caring culture, before moving into the community.

Over the first 18 months, the Willows moved from “Requires Improvement” to “Good”. We are now ready to move to the next stage and add Domiciliary Care to take our caring approach into the Bedlington Community.
