As a one of our Care Assistants, we expect you to provide personal care and support for our residents, while maintaining high standards of personal hygiene and supervising their daily routine, in order to live a fulfilled life at The Willows.
You will be able to provide a stable and caring environment while maintaining the residents’ nutritional, emotional, and psychological needs. In addition, you will encourage the residents to express their personal preferences, and retain as much independence as possible, while supporting them with family, social experiences, and values.
As a care assistant we also expect you to develop a healthy working relationship with managers, and to be a part in staff training and development. In addition, you should be willing to take on other duties when required, ensuring that the Home is kept clean, and is a safe and secure place for the residents, other staff members, and visitors to the Home.
Responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to:
- Providing personal care, food nutrition and supervise and monitor daily routine to ensure consistent high standards of resident care is achieved
- Maintaining confidentiality and discretion in communicating personal matters to senior and other members of staff, and other residents
- Checking all residents and their rooms on each shift to ensure work has been completed and residents attended to
- Assisting with care of the dying and any associated tasks and keeping the individual’s dignity and respect
- Supporting other team members on shift and ensure high standards of care are achieved and staff follow procedure and are safe whilst at work
We ask that all applicants have their NVQ level 2, and they will be expected to work towards level 3, however full training is provided. Applicants must also have a minimum of 12 months experience in the Care field, with an understanding of health and safety protocols, care of the elderly, the Care Quality Commission, and the Social Care Act.
